"The Pilgrims made seven times
more graves than huts. No Americans
have been more impoverished than
these who, nevertheless, set aside
a day of thanksgiving."

Kind of puts things in perspective, huh? Sometimes I wonder if we make Thanksgiving more of a celebration or a challenge. Can we really remain thankful when you're in the grocery check-out line for a half hour, when you look at the kitchen you'll have to clean after what you just made, when you're with family that requires much patience. But those are just annoyances & I grumble, yet people who go through devastation are often thankful for what they still have. Add this to the list of lessons I will constantly have to re-teach myself day by day.
