What IS that?!

Ladies, I need some help.
I'm aging. I'm  26 years & 11.9 months old. I understand that my skin is going to change, the process is already started. My question is HOW DO I MAKE IT STOP? haha And my dearest mother is no help in this department. She always tells me to age gracefully. Gracefully doesn't help what's happening in the corner of my eye, MOM.

So here's my question girls, what IS this that's happening? It's not really wrinkles, more like a weird texture happening. And before anyone tells me I'm crazy & imagining it, I have photo proof.

See what I'm saying? The picture isn't grainy, that's my skin. Zoom in as much as you like, I swear I'm not making this up. It's subtle, but it's a weird texture happening only there by my tear duct. You can't see it from a distance or with my glasses, but I'd kind of like to address it now while it is subtle.

So any suggestions? Tips? Magic spells?

  1. I have that same texture on my cheeks. It's happening because your skin is regenerating faster than it's shedding. This usually happens with age. I would suggest getting a facial that involves some exfoliation or a chemical peel. I know that sounds scary, but it's one of those things that generally does not leave with a natural approach. Also, you need to make sure you're exfoliating and moisturizing as part of your skin care regiment, with either PROFESSIONAL products, or products that contain a list of ingredients that you understand (for example, one of my exfoliates has the ingredient list "sugar, olive oil, lemon, fragrance"). Otherwise you may be adding to that texture by putting stuff on your skin that is terrible for it. Same thing goes with makeup.

I would also ask these questions: are you washing your face every night? It's really important to remove all makeup from your skin before you go to sleep-failure to do so can result in breakouts, enlarged pores, and texture.

Are you moisturizing your skin? This is extremely important. Many people are afraid of breakouts, but it's just a matter of finding the right product and right amount of moisture for your skin.

And finally, are you using SPF? There's nothing like sun damage to speed up the aging process.

Hope that helps. Some professional lines to look into would be Aveda, Artistry, or Dermalogica

  2. Also, taking vitamin E and D supplements, and drinking a ton of water is helpful.

  3. I feel like an ounce of prevention is worth a pound of cure so I'm constantly trying new anti aging potions. I like almost all of the Garnier moisturizers. They are reasonablely priced too. I've also picked up some Dr. Wexler products at Bath and Body in the past and like them. They are a bit more pricey, but they often are on the clearance racks. Right now I just got the starter kit of Cindy Crawford's Meaniful Beauty. I've been using it for two days and my skin already feels better, the packaging says to expect visable results in 4 weeks, so I'll keep you posted.

  4. Do you use undereye cream? You might just be dry there? Don't use lotion there, too heavy but also that skin is very sensitive--usually.

  5. I was actually too busy noticing your lip ring to see your under eye texture! How did I miss that addition?

  7. I think it's fine! You are so funny! I have the same thing and really haven't thought anything of it! Please don't worry, BUT if it is a bother...I think some sort of lotion or something should help? Sorry...you are too pretty to worry about that! love ya!
