The Buzz on Where I've Been

By now you might be thinking "Geeze, Lauren! It's Wednesday & you haven't post anything. What gives?" Sorry folks, I've been quite the busy bee lately. You can really tell by my willingness to use such cheap puns instead of putting my noggin to work. I hate to admit it, but you can probably expect more lulls in blogging during this moth as I'm in the middle of a crafty-blitz. It's wonderful & I love it, but it IS quite time consuming.

I'm so happy to be in the middle of this project with a wonderful friend. You've all heard about Sam (aka Sama. aka Sam-balam) before, we're up to our ears in fabric samples & sewing boxes. It's. The. Best.

The other day I posted the longing of my heart on facebook as I realized it in the midst of working:
Would someone like to hire me to do crafts in their livingroom so I don't have to go to work anymore? It'll be the best... we can chat, sip coffee, I'll make pretty things for you, maybe even listen to an audiobook together?
Seriously. It's all I want these days. Willing to relocate if anyone wants to take me up on that offer. haha

And what is this time-suck project I keep babbling on & on about? Ok I'll spill the beans, but only about 1/2 of them. No, I'm not opening my own Etsy... too predictable. I'm making some items to sell at an "alternative gift market" before Christmas. It's a fundraiser for my church & all items will be handmade or fair trade, Sam & I will be make embroidery hoop art to contribute. Not everything will be embroidered, I love the mixed textiles look, but we'll sell them still in their hoop & ready to me hung on a wall. You've probably seen it before & know what I'm talking about, but just in case here's a good example we found when scouring for inspiration. These aren't our hoops, ours will be original designs & aren't ready to be revealed yet, but you get the idea.

  1. I wish I could hire you to do crafts, I have a few projects I want done. I just know if I tried myself I would screw up.
